Welcome aboard the Solimar, my fully equipped 38-foot Rampage sport fishing boat, based at the Ocean World Marina in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. For me, fishing is more than just a profession—it’s a family tradition that began with my father and grandfather, who taught me starting from a very young age to respect the ocean and to develop a passion for sport fishing that has stayed with me my entire life. Today, I’m proud to share that passion with anglers from around the world—whether you’re an experienced angler seeking trophy fish or a first-time guest looking for an unforgettable day at sea.

Puerto Plata is one of the best destinations in the Caribbean for deep-sea fishing, offering year-round opportunities to catch some of the region’s most exciting fish species. Depending on the season, our waters are home to blue marlin, white marlin, mahi-mahi (dorado), wahoo, yellowfin tuna, sailfish, barracuda, king mackerel, bonito, and many other highly prized deep-sea species. Each trip is tailored to the current conditions, ensuring you have the best possible chance of enjoying a productive and exciting day at sea.

The Solimar has been designed to offer the perfect balance between performance, comfort, and safety. Powered by two diesel engines, it features a spacious fishing cabin equipped with a chair and a fighting belt, long stabilizers, tournament-grade Shimano Tiagra fishing gear ranging from 50W to 120W, a convenient door in the transom leading to the swim platform, and a comfortable cabin with sofas where you can relax between bites. The flybridge with a raised tuna tower offers excellent visibility while trolling and provides an unbeatable vantage point during the action.

You’ll be accompanied by a professional crew consisting of myself, as Captain, and a highly experienced first mate. Together, we’re dedicated to providing you with a safe, enjoyable, and professional fishing experience, helping Anglers of all skill levels make the most of their day at sea.

Your fishing charter includes transportation starting from your hotel within Puerto Plata (additional charges may apply for locations outside the area), a selection of fresh appetizers and seasonal fruit, as well as beer, bottled water, and soft drinks to keep you hydrated throughout the trip.
