Swordfish fishing
The swordfish (Xiphias gladius) is probably the most desired species in the world. It lives in tropical and subtropical waters of the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans, and also in the Mediterranean Sea. Swordfish can measure more than 3 meters long and weigh more than 600 kg.
The swordfish is a fierce fighter; once hooked in deep water, it can suddenly jump out of the water and immediately return to the abyss.
From their big eyes you can guess that these animals live and hunt at large bathymetries. They usually stay near deep canyons, near ridges, craters or wrecks. Swordfish usually come to the surface at night and prefer deeper water during the day.
