Sailfish fishing
The sailfish (Istiophorus) is one of the most desired species in the sport fishing world. Often described as the fastest fish in the sea, the sailfish can weigh up to 90kg and measure 3 meters in length.
Known for its distinctive dorsal fin, this species inhabits the tropical and subtropical waters of the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans. They prefer the high seas and deep reefs. It can usually be observed at the surface, where they seek warmer waters.
Fishing is trolling with lures or natural bait (bonito, mackerel...). Fly fishing is perhaps the most spectacular way to catch them. Once it has bitten, it usually starts a fast and frantic fight with many spectacular jumps.
