White Marlin fishing
The white marlin(Kajikia albida) is a beautiful fish that can be caught offshore in temperate and tropical waters. This fantastic electric blue fighter feeds mainly on fish, octopus and squid.
It is usually caught trolling offshore, using artificial lures or natural bait (bonito, mackerel...).
The white marlin is smaller than the blue marlin and has a lighter color. Its deep blue fin is more rounded than that of the blue marlin. It has a beak-shaped dorsal fin.
The white marlin can reach more than 2.5m in length and weigh up to 80kg.

White marlin are found in tropical and subtropical waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The major fishing destinations for white marlin are Portugal and the area of the Strait of Gibraltar in southern Spain, Canary Islands, Madeira, Azores. They are also distributed in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea.
