Squid Fishing
Fishing for squid can be done from the shore or from a boat using jigging lures.
The lure is dropped to the bottom of the sea and then slowly retrieved, alternating jerks and changing speed.
Starting from a boat you can troll or drift fish.
Equipment needed for Squid Fishing
For rods we need models with a very sensitive and visible tip, which are light and can withstand many jerks.
For their part, the most recommendable threads are those of PE braided lines with a diameter of 0.4 or 0.6. The finer the line, the more vertical you will be able to fish.
Moving on to the reels, the best ones are small in size so that their weight balances the light rods and also provides a lot of sensitivity. Remember to pick up the squid tactfully: if you pull it up too fast you can tear it or pull up only one tentacle.
Species caught with Squid Fishing
Fishing is mainly for squid, but octopus, canana and cuttlefish can also be caught.
There are different types of cephalopods around the world.
