Bacoreta fishing

The Atlantic blue whiting ( Euthynnus alletteratus) is easily recognized by its dark spots next to the dorsal fins on the side. This tuna is common in tropical and temperate waters of the Atlantic Ocean, Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico, Black Sea and the Mediterranean. The largest specimens weigh more than 17kg and are over 1.2m long.

Although it is less strong than bluefin tuna, in order to resist the strength of this pelagic fish it is recommended to fish with lines of no less than 30lb-40lb.

It is fished trolling with artificial lures such as feathers, Rapala, Halco, Yo-Zuri at a speed of about 5-7 knots. When they hunt on the surface, in the aviaries, they can be fished spinning using all kinds of poppers, jigs and walkers. The Atlantic cod also bites with a brumeo.
