Dorada fishing
Sea bream(Sparus aurata) is a common species in the Mediterranean Sea and in the Atlantic Ocean between the British Isles and Cape Verde. Very present in Mediterranean cuisine, it owes its name to the yellow spot between its eyes. The largest specimens can reach up to 1 m in length and can weigh up to 7 kg.
Sea bream usually move in shallow areas, up to 30 meters deep. To reproduce they move to deeper areas, up to 150 meters. They like sandy bottoms with rocky areas where they eat mollusks, worms and other invertebrates.
The best way to fish for bream is bottom fishing. A single hook and sinker rig works very well. It is important to use a thin, fluorocarbon bass (20 pounds for example), because they are very wary fish. The best baits for fishing for bream are worm, clam, crab and squid.
