Fishing with Nigel on the Nguru
Al Baraka House, Zanzibar
4/5 Very well
The East African coast is made up of some of the world's fishing grounds for billfish, giant jacks and dogtooth tuna. Other large pelagic predators such as large yellowfin tuna, wahoo and Spanish mackerel also lurk in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean and tasty snappers, emperors and green and pink triggerfish inhabit the plateaus and reef slopes. Located in Zanzibar, this Fishing charter is excellent for your deep sea fishing trips with your family and friends. Everything is on board to enjoy a wonderful day light tackle fishing in Paje Beach. Our Nguru Boat is a 40' center console, an AL RUBBAIN built by United Arab Emirates. She is a magnificent Boat and many Boat experts from all over the world are enthusiastic about her. Everyone is welcome aboard our Fishing Boats, from beginners to experienced Anglers, corporate groups and families. With sport fishing bases located in the Zanzibar Archipelago of Tanzania and the Quirimbas Archipelago in Northern Mozambique, we offer many sport fishing destinations and species to keep you coming back for more. We organize Fishing trips around Zanzibar, but we also do full day trips to Latham Island and south of Pemba. Latham Island is locally known as "Fungu Kizimkazi" or "Fungu Baraka". Latham, part of the Zanzibar archipelago, is a flat coral island located about 40 nautical miles southeast of Zanzibar Island. Latham is a 10 nautical mile by 4 nautical mile reef that rises from approximately 500 m of water and forms a sandy island in the center. The island is inhabited only by birds, whose nesting sites make for a highly recommended visit to the island. From September to March each year, Latham Island is one of the world's premier hunting grounds for giant dogtooth tuna. These fish aggregate there, during which large schools, sometimes numbering up to 30 to 50 fish at a time, weigh on average between 30 kg and 150 kg. Booking this Boat now and enjoy a great day of fishing in Zanzibar.

Captain Nigel Spencer is one of the most experienced sport fishing guides on the East African coast, with a lifetime at sea that began in his childhood and has taken him to the legendary fishing grounds of Tanzania and northern Mozambique. He honed his professional skills working as a guide for local Charter companies in Zanzibar and, starting from that time, has acquired an exceptional mastery of the region’s waters—from the prolific reefs and channels surrounding Zanzibar to the remote and famous fishing grounds off Latham Island. Nigel is equally comfortable with popping, jigging, and trolling techniques, and brings great technical versatility to every trip, along with an intimate knowledge of these waters that is simply hard to match. Few charter operators in the entire region have explored as far, fished as extensively, or logged as many hours along this stretch of coastline—and that experience is at your disposal every time you step aboard.
