Captain Nigel Spencer is one of the most experienced sport fishing guides on the East African coast, with a lifetime on the water that began in his childhood and has taken him across the legendary fisheries of Tanzania and northern Mozambique. He cut his professional teeth guiding for local charter companies in Zanzibar and has since built an exceptional command of the region's waters — from the prolific reefs and channels around Zanzibar to the remote and celebrated grounds of Latham Island. Equally at home with popping, jigging, and trolling, Nigel brings deep technical versatility to every trip, matched by an intimate knowledge of these waters that is simply hard to replicate. Few charter operators anywhere in the region have explored as far, fished as thoroughly, or logged as many hours along this stretch of coastline — and that experience is yours to draw on every time you step aboard.

Our boat Nguru is a 40’ centre console, an UAE built AL RUBBAIN. It's a superb boat and many boat experts from around the world rave about it. Everyone is welcome aboard our fishing charters - from novice to experienced anglers, to corporate groups and families.
With sport fishing bases located in the Zanzibar Archipelago of Tanzania and the Quirimbas Archipelago of northern Mozambique we offer plenty of sport fishing destinations and species to keep you coming back for more! We organize fishing trips around Zanzibar, but also do full day trips to Latham Island and to Southern Pemba.
Latham Island is locally known as “Fungu Kizimkazi” or “Fungu Baraka,”. Part of the Zanzibar Archipelago, Latham is a flat coral island located some 40 nautical miles south east of Zanzibar Island. Latham is a 10 nautical mile by 4 nautical mile reef rising from approximately 500 m of water and coming up to form a sand island at it’s centre. The island is only inhabited by birds, whose nesting sites make up for a highly recommended visit to the island.
From September through March every year, Latham Island is a top location in the world for hunting Giant Dogtooth Tuna. These fish aggregate there, during which large schools, sometimes numbering up to 30 to 50 fish at a time, average between 30 kgs to 150 kgs in weight.
Book this boat now and enjoy a great day fishing in Zanzibar.
