The East African coastline consists of some of the world’s fishing hotspots for billfish, Giant Trevally and Dogtooth Tuna.  Other large pelagic predators such as big Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, and Spanish Mackerel also lurk the warm Indian Ocean waters and tasty Snappers, Emperors, and Green and Rosy Jobfish inhabit the reef plateaus and slopes.

Located in Zanzibar this fishing charter is excellent for your deep sea fishing trips with your family and friends. Everything is on board to enjoy a wonderful day fishing in Paje Beach.

Our boat Nguru is a 40’ centre console, an UAE built AL RUBBAIN. It's a superb boat and many boat experts from around the world rave about it. Everyone is welcome aboard our fishing charters - from novice to experienced anglers, to corporate groups and families.

With sport fishing bases located in the Zanzibar Archipelago of Tanzania and the Quirimbas Archipelago of northern Mozambique we offer plenty of sport fishing destinations and species to keep you coming back for more! We organize fishing trips around Zanzibar, but also do full day trips to Latham Island and to Southern Pemba.

Latham Island is locally known as “Fungu Kizimkazi” or “Fungu Baraka,”. Part of the Zanzibar Archipelago, Latham is  a flat coral island located some 40 nautical miles south east of Zanzibar Island. Latham is a 10 nautical mile by 4 nautical mile reef rising from approximately 500 m of water and coming up to form a sand island at it’s centre. The island is only inhabited by birds, whose nesting sites make up for a highly recommended visit to the island.

From September through March every year, Latham Island is a top location in the world for hunting Giant Dogtooth Tuna. These fish aggregate there, during which large schools, sometimes numbering up to 30 to 50 fish at a time, average between 30 kgs to 150 kgs in weight.

About the captain

Luke Mollison

Luke was born in South Africa and grew up plying the waters around Durban. During his youth, he learned to fish and in his teens worked as a deckhand on fishing charter boats. In his early twenties, he bought his first boat and started running his own fishing charters out of Durban. He moved to Zanzibar three years ago at age 25 and has since worked in the fishing guiding business for local charter companies. He is well versed in different sport fishing techniques that include popping, jigging, and trolling and knows Zanzibar’s - and legendary Latham Island’s - waters well.

We’ve fished the East African coast since our childhoods and have over 60 years of combined experience in fishing Tanzania and northern Mozambique’s waters. We are confident to say that it would be hard to find another charter operator in the area having gone as far, explored as thoroughly, and fished as much the waters along the Tanzanian and northern Mozambique’s coasts.
