Whiting fishing
The whiting (Merlangius merlangus merlangus) is a small species of the cod family. It lives in the eastern Atlantic Ocean and also the Mediterranean Sea, North Sea and eastern British coast. Although record whiting catches of up to 70 cm have been recorded, those caught are typically around 25 cm.

Dab ( Limanda limanda) is a species of flatfish, to which flounder, megrim and sole belong. It inhabits the sandy seabeds of the North Sea, the western Baltic Sea, the Bay of Biscay and the waters of Iceland. The normal catch is fish of about 20 cm, but there are dab that reach 40 cm in length with a weight of about one kilogram. Dab is a very good eating fish.
