Red drum fishing
The red drum ( Sciaenops ocellatus) is one of the most popular species for sport fishing in the USA and Mexico. It is found in western Atlantic waters Starting from Timaulipas in Mexico to Virginia in the USA.
It can reach 150 cm in length and weigh up to 45 kg. The red corvina has a coppery or reddish brown back and a whitish belly. At the base of the tail is the characteristic black eye spot.
It feeds mainly on crustaceans, mollusks and a variety of fish.
