Fishing in Martinique

Fishing in Martinique is known worldwide for its location. The island is part of the Lesser Antilles, an arc of volcanic islands stretching from Puerto Rico in the north to Grenada in the south. They form the eastern boundary of the Caribbean Sea with the Atlantic Ocean.

These islands emerged from the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean by lava emissions millions of years ago. The seabed is a paradise for Fishing in the sea in Martinique and the other Caribbean islands. The best time for deep-sea fishing in Martinique is from June to January.

Fishing for marlin and sailfish in Martinique can be done all year round, but December, January and February are the best months.

Barracuda, wahoo and skipjack are found year-round around the island. Dorado (llampuga) can be fished in Martinique from November to February.
