Deep-sea Fishing - 10 hours
Sydney
Fishing in Sydney is divided between harbor fishing and deep-sea fishing. In the harbor itself, the most popular species is the Yellowtail Kingfish (a type of Amberjack) which you can catch spinning and jigging. Not far from Syndey there is a reef where you can fish well for snapper (jigging or bottom fishing with natural bait). In the open sea there is trolling fishing for tuna, dorado, wahoo, marlin, etc.
Spring: As the waters begin to warm up, so does the Fishing in and around Sydney. Large schools of Australian salmon and yellowtail kingfish begin to be seen.
Summer: this period is a very strong fishing season for inshore and offshore fishing in Sydney. Inshore you can find yellowtail kingfish, amberjack and Australian salmon in large numbers. Fishing for squid is usually good at this time of year.
Offshore in the summer, warmer currents arrive and with them come species such as Striped Marlin, Black Marlin and Blue Marlin. Dorado and wahoo are other species that are always found along Sydney's coasts.
Autumn: this period continues to be amazing offshore with many species of sharks as well as tuna, marlin, dorado and wahoo. A very good time to find giant fish offshore.
Winter: this is a great time of year to target snapper on the reefs and around structured areas. It is a popular species to fish for in Sydney. Offshore bluefin tuna and yellowfin tuna will start to appear.
Popular places to visit when not enjoying Fishing include the Sydney Harbour Bridge mentioned above, the Opera House, and spending the day at Bondi Beach.
Other attractions worth considering include a river cruise on the harbor, a visit to Manly Beach, visiting Darling Harbour, The Royal Botanic Garden Sydney, Sydney Tower Eye, Taronga Zoo or taking a stroll through the famous Kings Cross district.
There are also many museums, restaurants and bars you can visit in the city.
Fishing in Sydney and New South Wales requires a fishing license. Remember that Fishing charters usually already have a fishing license so you don't need to buy one if you are hiring a Boat.
