My name is Carlos Cavaco. I've been familiar with our Ria Formosa for 40 years. I started bottom fishing and big game fishing over 25 years ago. I'm a pioneer in big game fishing in the Algarve, along with many others who innovated this type of fishing. I Was the first fisherman to caught a BFT tuna over 200Kg, see the certificate I love the sea, and what I do for my clients is as if I were doing it for myself. Days with my clients must be perfect, with confort, relaxation, and plenty of fishing. I like them to feel at home and welcomed. Even if you book, i can offer time to please my clients. Tight lights people.... We are ready to do our Best.

You're likely to fish for Common Pandora, Mahi Mahi, Gilt-head (Seabream), Atlantic Mackerel, Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Mako Shark, Albacore Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, Blackfin Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Skipjack Tuna, and more, depending on when you go. For these species, you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. If you have pets (dog, cat) they are welcome aboard as well. You're welcome to bring snacks – luckly, Capt. Carlos will have some on board!
Capt. Carlos welcomes you aboard a 32' Rodman sportfishing vessel that can carry up to 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience, a bedroom, a small saloon to rest and relax. Small kitchen as well. Capt. Carlos has rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
Some essentials to bring are sunglasses, a hat, and sunblock (non-spray). Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks available on board.
Now's the time to experience fishing in Faro for yourself, with On Duty.
