Fishing with Josh in the Doloree
Mayo, Ireland
4/5 Very well
Belmullet is arguably one of Ireland's best all-round sea fishing destinations. Its beautiful sheltered waters, with Blacksod Bay to the south and Broad Haven Bay to the north, make it an exceptional location. The waters surrounding Belmullet are home to over thirty-nine species of fish, so the sport fisherman is rewarded with some of the best sea fishing in Ireland. Belmullet holds Irish records for Tub Gurnard (12 lb 3 oz 8 dr), Red Gurnard (3 lb 9 oz) and Halibut (156 lb). In addition, the Achill Island area offers excellent offshore fishing and holds Irish records for both Porbeagle (365 lb) and Blue Shark (256 lb).
