Mar Balear Fishing Adventures is a german company based in Hamburg. In Cala d’Or, Mallorca they have two comfortable yachts put into service in 2019. Mallorca offers an excellent infrastructure. Many and cheap flights are offered from various airports in Europe. This allows guests to come to the island in a relatively short time and reach Cala d’Or in the southeast of the island in a short time. Cala d’Or is one of the most beautiful harbors on Mallorca and offers a large number of good accommodation options and a wide selection of restaurants, bars and cafés.
The crew takes care of everything! On board, high-end fishing tackle is available; bait and chum has been taken care off. Snacks and chilled soft drinks will be served to the guests. Depending on the duration of the trip, delicious meals are prepared on board. Both boats feature a gas cooker and an on board oven. If a tasty fish or squid comes out, the crew can cook it for you.

Sample VIP itinerary
Arrival at Mallorca airport. You will be picked up by a crew member and be brought directly to the port in Cala d’Or. The crew will welcome you on the flybridge with a welcome drink. Important information such as the weather forecast, fish caught in the last few days etc. will be exchanged. The crew will suggest what will be most successful strategy for your fishing holidays in Mallorca for the coming days. You will be briefed on the functions of the boat and soon it’s time to cast off. Trolling will be done on the way to the hot spots. Many surprises like mahi mahi, false albacore, spearfish or even barracuda can hit the lures. After the boat is anchored, the rods will be prepared for tuna or swordfish.
Two exiting nights of fishing for swordfish and other nocturnal fish follow, as well as two exiting days of fishing for bluefin tuna and other 20 species, e.g. moray eel, John Dory, ray….
In the late afternoon of the second day, we go back to the harbor of Cala d’Or. On request we bring caught fish to a restaurant at the harbor. You will stay overnight in a hotel. Next morning you will be brought via private transfer to Palma de Mallorca airport. This special kind of a long weekend!

After a welcome drink on the flybridge we leave Cala d’Or in the late evening. The Beneteau Swift 35 Trawler will be brought on speed, to quickly cover the journey of 60 nautical miles. We pass the island of Cabrera and halfway between Mallorca and Ibiza we reach the extraordinary hot spot Banco de Emile Baudot in the first dawn. This is a plateau that rises from the depths to about 100 meters. It is easy to imagine, that there live many different species of fish. So also a lot of baitfish and these are followed by the great predators of the Mediterranean Sea. Big tunas over 300kg or swordfish over 100kg have been caught here already. Also fishing for other species, such as Jon Dorys, Besugos or rays holds here some surprises. The answer on the question, what to catch here, the answer is:

Towards evening, we switch to swordfish mounts, because the chances of catching the monsters of the deep, i.e. big swordfish, are very good here. If you like, you can fish for nocturnal fish such as conger or squid.
When the sun rises again, the rods are reeled in after a good breakfast. Now we troll along the Emile Baudot edge back to Cala d’Or with excellent chances of catching albacores, spearfish, skipjacks and big mahi mahis.
Depending on how often the catches of the aforementioned fish stop us, we reach the harbor after 8-9 hours. A very special tour with the use of different fishing techniques and the possibility to catch very big and very different fish.
This is a very special tour, because it is very rich in variety. Besides the chance to catch many fish species in considerable sizes, there is also the possibility to experience different fishing techniques.

The Fleet
Mar Balear Fishing Adventures feature two identical Bénéteau Trawlers. They are 11.50 m long, powered by a 430 hp Cummins diesel. Built in 2019, the boats are equipped with all safety elements to meet the german Flag/BG Verkehr standard. We also comply with the Spanish safety requirements.
Comfortably equipped with 6 berths, indoor and outdoor shower and toilet.
Galley with gas cooker and oven, fridge with freezer compartment.
All necessary fishing equipment is on board
We use two identical boats of this type: Pilar II and Carla II. It simplifies our organization, especially because we occasionally have groups of 8 anglers on board. It is much more comfortable for our guests to divide groups of this size between two boats. In addition, both boats can fish at different spots to increase the chances.
