Amberjack fishing

Amberjack ( Seriola dumerili), which is also commonly called Lecha, Pez Limón and in the Canary Islands Medregal, inhabits the rather warm waters of the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic, the Mediterranean Sea, etc. They prefer to move around areas with obstacles such as rocks, wrecks, steep slopes where they feed on squid, cuttlefish, horse mackerel, mackerel, etc.

The best way to fish them is jigging or with live bait. It is a tremendously strong fish and after the bite, the larger specimens usually look for sharp objects on the bottom to try to break the line (and very often they succeed). They can reach 80 kg.
