More than 20 years experience fishing in Le Lavandou, French Riviera. I like jigging, fire-ball, madaï, inchiku, trolling, live bait fishing, spinning, deep sea fishing...
Leaving from the port of Le Lavandou, let yourself be guided through an unspoilt natural setting for unforgettable moments of fishing, dreaming and sharing.
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced angler, I offer a range of fishing techniques throughout the year.
The port of Le Lavandou is an outpost for some very famous fishing areas.
The fishing zone includes the bay of Le Lavandou and extends as far as the Iles d'Or (Porquerolles, Port-Cros National Park, Le Levant), Cap Lardier and the famous Magaud bank (see fishing zone map).
Important: Bring drinks and a picnic (you can eat on the island of Port-Cros), appropriate clothing, sun protection (sunglasses, sun cream) and anti-seasickness pills if necessary.
Bottom fishing: recommended for children. This highly entertaining type of fishing is done at anchor or drifting if conditions permit and on depths of -15 to -30m with small baits targeting fish such as girelles, serrans, snapper, sea bream, bogues, small sparids, etc. Bottom fishing is possible in groups up to 4 anglers and can be done all year round.
Inshore trolling with lures takes place from June to December, and the targeted species include bonito, jack, bluefish, barracuda, dolphinfish, etc.
Slow live bait trolling: Once the live fish have been caught (often by trolling), they are slowly trolled over areas where barracudas, amberjacks and dentex regularly come to feed. This technique can be done all year round.
Spin fishing can be practised in 2 different ways.
It can be done either in open water in the fish frenzies (small bluefin tuna, mackerel, barracuda, bonito, dolphinfish, albacore, etc.).
If there is frenzies, you can either jig or cast lures from the boat along the rocky coast to fish for sea bass, oblades, sars, dentex, small amberjacks, etc.
Jigging (speed jigging and light jigging, inchiku, madaï, tail jigging). This vertical lure fishing technique allows you to fish at depths where other techniques fail. Target fish are red scorpion fish, snapper, dentex, amberjack, bonito...
