King mackerel fishing

The king mackerel (Scomberomorus cavalla) or kingfish is a common fish species of the western Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. King Mackerel can grow to up to 40kg (90lb) and have razor sharp teeth.

King mackerel have a lateral line that takes an abrupt drop at mid-body. In contrast that of the Spanish mackerel (and also cero mackerel) slopes gradually from the top edge of the gill to the tail.
