After a year marked by closed borders, grounded planes and mandatory quarantines, it felt key to have a 2021 list that is equal parts realistic and inspirational. When restrictions relax this summer, we’ll be back on the road looking for great places to fish.

Croatia

Fishing in Croatia means fresh water fishing and deep sea fishing. Inland, anglers can catch trout fly fishing on the crystal clear rivers, carp fishing anglers target their favourite fish in the many lakes around the country.

The tropic waters are home to wahoo, billfish, as well as sizeable numbers of tuna, including yellowfin, bigeye and dogtooth tuna. Fishing the flats and reefs fly fishing or spinfishing may produce exotic species including bohar snapper, bonefish, bluefin trevally or napoleon wrasse.
